For the ocean dives you may want to rent the actual scuba equipment, however we do suggest that you consider purchasing your own SCUBA gear during the class so that you may benefit from learning with your very own equipment.

The adventure of diving begins when you blow your first bubbles with Wallin's Dive Center. With more than 25 years of experience and having certified more than 20,000 divers, Wallin's Dive Center provides some of the most experienced and knowledgeable staff on the West Coast.

Our 10,000 square foot center includes an impressive indoor heated pool, retail showroom, a rental department with the latest equipment, state of the art service center, as well as classrooms and spacious locker rooms with showers. Our handpicked Instructors are highly trained professionals, qualified to teach by meeting the dive industry's highest training standards.

Dive into the Wallin's Open Water Program and leave the surface world behind. With Wallin's and our comfort through repetition teaching philosophy, you will develop the skills necessary to become a proficient diver, and quickly gain confidence in your overall diving ability. Our home study program allows you to complete the academics at home without wasting valuable class time. This allows you to spend more time “hands-on” in-water training in our indoor heated pool. Gaining valuable experience and enjoying a great time underwater in the pool will prepare you for the excitement of your ocean dives in the Monterey/Carmel area.

Anyone 12 years or older can enjoy scuba diving. You should be in good health and average physical condition. As for swimming skills you should be able to stay afloat and have basic swim skills.

Most importantly, you should be comfortable in and around water.
